Late Summer Test

Michigan Flyways Retriever Club (a member of the Master National Retriever Club) welcomes you to our 2023 Summer Hunt Test. We are offering a Master test along with two Senior and two Junior tests on the weekend of Saturday, July 22 through Sunday, July 23, 2023. The tests will be held on property owned by Aaron Jorgensen in Williamston, Michigan, a premier venue for hunt tests and dog training, and we sincerely thank Mr. Jorgensen for the use of these grounds.

Please respect the use of this fine property as well as area motels, campgrounds, private and public lands. Please be considerate when airing dogs, as well as picking up all trash (including cigarette butts). Signs will be placed along Bell Oak Road indicating the entrance to each test site. Keep to driving on the gravel roads or stay near the driving paths into and out of the fields where tests will be held. Please park only in areas designated by the Marshal. DO NOT PARK or DRIVE on planted fields.

Cell phones should be turned off in the gallery and near the line. In the spirit of good sportsmanship, please leave these in your vehicle.

A special thanks to all these folks: Hunt Test Committee, Marshals, Coordinators, hospitality, gunners, bird boys and to everyone who volunteered to work and support the hunt test. We couldn't do this without you!

If you have any questions during the test, please feel free to ask the Marshals.

Most of all...have fun!

Best Regards,
2023 Summer Hunt Test Chair and the Michigan Flyways Retriever Club 2023 Summer Hunt Test Committee

WAITING  LIST
Michigan Flyways will use a waiting list for Master Hunter entries that are received after the test has filled but PRIOR to the published closing date. If, after closing and up to 9:00 a.m. the day before the test, there are entries that are scratched, dogs may be taken from the waiting list to run in the position of the absent dogs. Your dog MUST be on the waiting list prior to the closing date to be eligible for the open positions. Dogs called from the waiting list shall be prioritized in the order the entries were received. The hunt test secretary will contact the next person on the waiting list if known scratches occur after the closing. You will have 4 hours to return the call or the available position will go to the next person on the waiting list. Make sure Entry Express has your correct contact number.
No substitutions will be allowed after 9:00 a.m. the morning before the test (normally a Friday).
Payment for any entry that is moved up from the waiting list can be made between 2:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m. at hunt test headquarters the day before the test. Payment MUST be made at hunt test headquarters no later than 7:30 a.m. the morning of the test. Marshals will not be accepting any money at the stake. No dogs will be allowed to run until payment has been made. Be prepared to pay with exact cash or a check. A service fee of $4.85 due to Entry Express will be added to the full entry fee. Any questions may be directed to the hunt test secretary. Please contact Judy Merians at mikemerians@yahoo.com for questions.
